About Josh

Josh’s path to Vitale Engineering began at Clarkson University, where he earned a B.S. in Engineering and Management, and continued through nine years as an officer in the U.S. Navy submarine force. A graduate of Naval Nuclear Power School, he served as Engineering Officer of the Watch aboard the USS California, led more than twenty direct reports as Electrical and Main Propulsion Assistant, and oversaw the engineering readiness of up to twelve submarines at Submarine Squadron Twelve. A Raytheon radar internship and a subsequent role supervising substation construction for National Grid rounded out his experience, and confirmed that he would rather support the force from the civilian side.

What drives Josh is watching a well-prepared team execute a difficult task with excellence, every member fully owning their role. He sees his job as solving problems, most often by connecting the people who have them with the people who can fix them. A Lean Six Sigma Specialist, he brings the submarine force’s discipline of preparation, execution, and debrief to every customer engagement.

Outside of work, Josh and his wife of nearly eleven years are raising four children in a hundred-year-old farmhouse full of charm and problems, alongside two Corgi mixes. He can fix just about anything, from car engines to guitars to houses. Fun fact: Josh is an aspiring lumberjack who heats his home with wood and routinely fells 75 to 100 foot trees. He recharges wilderness camping at Stillwater Reservoir and listening to and playing music.
